Quick Guides to Return? (For Some, They Already
Have)
By Demand Studios Review Editorial
Posted on 9/6/10:
Our first bit of inside information comes from a Demand
Studios writer who would prefer to remain nameless.
It turns out this writer received an email recently informing him or her that he
or she had been chosen as one 30 writers approved to create Quick Guides.
For those who don't know, Quick Guides are a format that disappeared about a year
ago after issues concerning organization and quality. If you weren't around for these articles, here's
a sample Quick Guide.
Demand decided to let about 15 writers create new Quick Guides to test the
waters and see if the issues had been solved. Then they decided to open it up to another 15
writers.
According to our tipster, the Quick Guides that were created in the first test
run, with the 15 invited writers turned out well. No word yet, apparently, as to how the next set came out but
perhaps we'll all find out soon enough.
The writers who were selected were told not to discuss the Quick Guides on the
forums. Probably to keep people from getting jealous that they hadn't been selected. They weren't told they
couldn't speak about it elsewhere. But maybe that was implied?
Well at any rate we're glad for the insider information. A lot of people have been
asking for the Quick Guides to return, so it was assumed that this info would be of interest.
If we find out anything more we'll let you know.
