How to Get Demand Studios Articles Approved
Quickly

For whatever reason or set of
reasons (glitches, CEs no longer having quotas, alignment of
stars), Demand Media Studios articles have lately been moving
through the queue at about the pace of an 80 year old walking through thick mud.
Now, your articles will eventually be reviewed. That's a guarantee. But that's
cold comfort when the bills are due and you're looking at articles stuck in the awaiting review column.
For the most part, you don't have a lot of control over how fast your demand
studios articles get approved.
Like so many other cases in the Demand Media Studios world, you, the Demand
Studios writer, are at the mercy of the copy editors.
That said, there are some ways you can help improve your odds of seeing
those articles move through faster.
Write Fact Sheets & Decision
Articles
Fact sheets and decision articles are
easier for copy editors to review than longer formats. They're shorter
and tend to be more straightforward than many other types of articles.
Turns out the CEs get the same amount of money for reviewing a fact sheet or
decision article as they do reviewing other, longer formats. So why wouldn't they gravitate toward fact sheets?
Avoid Special Assignment
Articles
Special assignments are great when you're looking for extra, exclusive titles.
Sometimes they even pay more. But they tend to take longer to get reviewed. If you really need your articles to go
through fast in order to meet a payment cutoff date, avoid these titles.
Write In Short Sentences
This is a good idea in general, since Demand Media tends to favor this style of
writing.
It also helps when looking to have articles reviewed quickly because the editor
will likely view the piece as easier to read and edit.
Carefully Edit Your
Articles
Edit your own articles carefully before submitting them. That way, the editor will
have less work to do and you'll be less likely to have the article kicked back for a rewrite.
Provide Reference
Notes
Making it easier for the copy editors to fact check your articles will also help
them move through the queue faster.
You can either place notes within the article where appropriate, ex. "(Reference
1, paragraph 2)" or in the comments section below your article.
This will also be greatly appreciated by your CE, and who knows, maybe they'll be
more likely to make minor corrections as opposed to sending it back to you for an edit.
