Demand Studios Changes
By Demand Studios Review Editorial
Posted On 10/16/10:
First off, my apologies for neglecting Demand Studios Review
the past week or so.
I've had a lot going on and then got into a car accident (got rear-ended, am fine
except for a sore neck and a severely mangled backend of my brand new car...lame).
Anyway, I'm back in action and wanted to say a bit about all the recent changes
I've noticed taking place at Demand Studios.
Perhaps the biggest one is the rollout of the new work desk. So far we're still
seeing the old work desk, but you can preview the new one, and it looks pretty good. It's a bit of information
overload, but I like having everything in one place. What does everyone else think?
I also like how you can now see where your old work has been published,
without having to search around for it. This is part of Demand Media's new share your work feature.
Obviously they are wanting you to share your articles on Facebook and Twitter so
they can get the link and the exposure. While I don't plan on actually making use of these, I still like being able
to easily find where my articles are being printed. Sometimes I want to make use of some past article I've written
for research purposes, and this makes it much easier to do so.
I also think it's convienent for revenue share articles. It can help you spread
the word about those articles, and hopefully get some ad revenue. It also allows you to find the links, should you
want to work on link building with those articles and have them rise to the top of Google's search
results.
Another interesting development in the Demand Media Studios world, I've noticed a
few new publishers showing up when I look for assignments.
There are three, to be exact: Cherry Moon Farms (CherryMoonFarms.com), Personal Creations (PersonalCreations.com), and Shari's Berries (which is
listed at SharisBerries.com but is actually found at Berries.com).
So far, no articles show up under any of those publishers. I guess we'll have to
wait and see what those articles will look like, and what format they'll take.
You'll notice if you take a look at the sites, they are all published under
the RedEnvelope, ProFlowers network. If I'm remembering correctly (and I may not be, it's been a while), I think I had
to be specifically approved for the RedEnvelope and ProFlowers articles. So not all Demand Studios writers may be
seeing these publishers.
Well, there are probably a few more Demand Studios changes I could comment on, but
this is getting lengthy. These were the main ones I wanted to address.
