Demand Media Partners with LegalZoom
By Demand Studios Review Editorial
Posted On 10/25/10:
Demand Media announced its partnership with the online legal
document service website LegalZoom today via its forum.
They will be creating a content channel for the site, and put out a call for
qualified writers and editors.
From the forum posting:
"Demand Media Studios is excited to start
production on a new Content Channel for LegalZoom, the nation’s largest online legal document preparation
service. DMS articles will supplement the document preparation tools currently on the site, and provide
visitors with a useful educational resource for legal topics. The content’s tone will be friendly, practical
and accessible to all, regardless of their legal expertise.
Articles will initially focus on the LLC and Trademark
categories in the How To and Topic View formats. These articles will come at a higher price point (still TBD, or
else we’d share), and initial production will start the week of November 1 and last a few months.
We are actively sourcing writers and copy editors and accepting
applications from lawyers, paralegals and former and current law students. Writers who have contributed to legal
journals will also be considered. If you do not have the background,
experience or qualifications to write legal articles, do not apply.
To apply for the project, please fill out the below
template in an email to Special.Assignments@demandmedia.com with “LegalZoom
Writer” or “LegalZoom Editor” in the subject line.
Applications that do not follow these instructions be disregarded. Due to the high
volume of applications we receive, we regret that we are not able to get back to each applicant personally.
Selected writers and CEs will be notified by November 5.
This application must be completed in entirety and submitted
in the body of your email. Use the name and email address you use in the Studio. Please be concise when describing
qualifications (no more than 100 words), and do not include more than 4 writing samples per category. We prefer
links to online articles, but PDF attachments of writing samples are also acceptable.

While this obviously won't benefit all Demand Media Studios
writers, it should be a good opportunity for those who qualify.
Having as many articles to choose from as possible, which is
never a bad thing.
Those writers who don't currently freelance for Demand Media,
but are interested in working on this project, should first apply through the Demand Studios
website.
Good luck to all who apply.
